Dr. Lowenguth is originally from Albany, New York. She graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in Loudonville, New York with a BS in biology. Following college graduation from Siena College, she attended SUNY at Buffalo’s School of Dental Medicine, graduating at the top of her class.
During dental school, she was actively involved in scientific research and was awarded the Oral Biology Fellowship, academic achievement award from the American Association of Women’s Dentists, and was the recipient of the Outstanding Student Award in Periodontics from the American Academy of Periodontology.
After meeting her husband Dr. Mark Lowenguth, a native of Rochester, in dental school, she abandoned her plans to move to the West Coast and came to Rochester to study Periodontics at Eastman Dental Center. Additionally, she received a training grant from NIDR for masters training at the University of Rochester. This grant was awarded to select students throughout the country in order to educate scientists, teachers, and researchers in dentistry.
Dr. Lowenguth has practiced Periodontics and Implant Surgery in Rochester since 1989, and is married to Mark Lowenguth, D.D.S. They have one daughter, two poodles and a burmese cat. Dr. Lowenguth loves athletic activities, she played division I basketball and softball in college. She runs with Fleet Feet Sports and ran the Chicago Marathon for charity, raising more than $13,000 for Autism Up.
Dr Lowenguth enjoys travel and has been almost around the world. She hopes to visit every continent and as many countries as possible, as she loves to learn about people and their culture. For relaxation, she enjoys time with good friends and family, reading nonfiction, cycling and running.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Dr. Infantino attended college and dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He received his graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry, and received a Certificate in Periodontology.
Dr. Infantino has been in full-time private practice in Rochester for over 40 years. His knowledge and expertise in the field of Periodontics and implant dentistry is well respected by Western New York Dentists.
Dr. Infantino is a native Rochesterian and has a vast knowledge of Rochester history, culture and lifestyles. Patients, friends, colleagues and graduate students love to hear Dr. Infantino’s take on history and life.

Additionally, Dr. Infantino enjoys sports, music and is an avid golfer who has won many area and state golf tournaments throughout his career. At one point, had he not loved dentistry as much as he does, he could have entered the Pro Golfing world.

She is beloved in the Rochester community for her warm and winsome ways with patients, and cutting-edge professional skills. We are honored to have her on our team. Dr. Shang is originally from Montreal, Canada. She graduated from the
prestigious five-year combined preparatory BS and DMD Program at McGill
University. During dental school, Dr. Shang was the recipient of the
Outstanding Student Award in Periodontics from the American Academy of
Periodontology.
Following her graduation, Dr. Shang relocated to Rochester to further
pursue studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry followed by an
additional three years of specialty training in Periodontics and Implant
surgery at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health.
Dr. Shang is currently a double-board
certified periodontist in US and Canada.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology as well as a
fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Shang is fluent in
English, French, and Chinese.
Dr. Shang also contributes her time to teaching dentists as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Periodontics at Eastman Institute for Oral Health. In her spare time, Dr. Shang enjoys traveling, cooking, and discovering local restaurants
Finance & Insurance Director
Diane has been with Drs. Lowenguth and Infantino for over 13 years. Diane is often one of the first people to greet you. Diane manages appointments, and your financial / insurance matters. Diane takes pleasure in making our patients feel comfortable and supported at Roc Perio.
Born in Canada, Diane came to the USA at age 7 and grew up in Massachusetts. With a dentistry backgroud, she joined our team in 2002. Diane and her partner Alisa have 4 adult children: Andrea, Allison, Ashley, and Alexander, as weel as two grandchildren, Amelie and Clayton. (The Black Lab is still at home!)
Diane loves cooking and enjoys a vegan lifestyle. Weekends are filled with camping, gardening, exercising, traveling, and spending time with family.
Office Manager
Sarah has been working with ROC Perio and Implants since 2015. It is her goal to make sure you have an enjoyable experience at every visit. She ensures your appointment runs as smoothly as possible. She is very knowledgeable with insurance and is here to answer any insurance or financial questions you may have.
Sarah is married to her husband Jim, and together, they have two children - Evan and Adelaide. Outside of the office, Sarah loves being outdoors, going to festivals, and just spending time with her family and friends.
Treatment Coordinator
Matt
joined our team in October 2017. He is our clinical point-of-care specialist
and a patient’s best friend when it comes to coordinating surgical care
appointments. Matt is also our technology expert, where he administers our
digital x-rays and supervises dental lab needs.
Matt
was born and raised in Syracuse and graduated from SUNY Oswego with a
psychology degree.
Outside
of the office, Matt is a trained vocalist and enjoys frequent exercise.
Treatment Coordinator
Bethany has been an assistant for over 8 years, 5 of which in general dentistry and the remainder in surgical dentistry Bethany’s extensive experience allows her to assist the
doctors in their full scope of practice from nonsurgical to surgical treatment..
She received her Dental Assisting license from Beechnut Dental Assistant training school.
She enjoys spending time with her husband James and her two sons, Andrew and Gavin.
Dental Hygenist
Michelle was born and raised in Rochester and attended Our Lady of Mercy High School. She attended Monroe Community College for Dental Hygiene and has been a hygienist for over 36 years.
Michelle has two adult children, one manages a dental
office and the other is a landscape architect. In her free time, she volunteers
for both Angels of Mercy and Fairy Godmother. Michelle enjoys music, theatre,
sports traveling and socializing.
Front Office Coordinator
Yvonne calls Rochester home. She belongs to the warm smile that greets you upon arrival at ROC Perio and Implants. Yvonne keeps the front office running smoothly and will always be there to ensure you have the best experience at your every visit!
